What held her all together
was just one small, tiny string.
It was worn and frayed. Broken.
Now she's unraveling.
Everything's flooding to the surface,
So many years of pain.
All those moments spent,
With nothing much to gain.
Silent wounds unspoken,
Hidden and buried in the deep.
You once had all her time
you thought you'd forever keep.
Trickery loved the fool
and you couldn't see what was true.
You fell for all the stories
and the lies they fed to you.
Believe it all - if you like.
But it's your choice not to see.
I guess it makes sense now,
why you never would see me.
But I saw this reflection
Staring back from that mirror
And I studied that girl in wonder
Because I had finally seen her.
She's something so very beautiful
And she's gentle and she's kind.
It's not her fault you chose to be,
so damn deaf and so blind.
She was always worth a listen,
but now she's finished and she's done.
All the years were once yours.
Too bad, you now have none.
